As an engineer on the Studio Programming Engineering team, you’ll help us build the future of how the Netflix studio creates and produce shows on a global scale. We partner closely with our data science teams to build beautiful applications that make the studio workflow 10x more efficient.  We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Test to help us build out automated testing frameworks and enhance our growing number of tests in our data-intensive applications. In this role you will have opportunity to apply your skills to develop robust and scalable software. Our ideal teammate (you don’t have to tick all the boxes right now)

  • Has exceptional ability building tools and automation using Ruby, Node.js, Java, Go, Python or similar, and a solid grasp of SQL
  • Has great technical writing skills
  • Has solid experience with testing data consistency in data-intensive applications
  • Has experience in developing test infrastructure, test frameworks to automate testing of RESTful services, libraries and RPC APIs
  • Has proven experienceworking with applications and services in a microservices environment
  • Has demonstrated success in partnering with key stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives
  • Understands and is thoughtful about tradeoffs
  • Loves finding and sharing best practices, as well as leading their implementation across organizations
  • Leverages and contributes to open source


  • Polyglot experience with other languages and being able to pick the right tool for the job
  • You've read Designing Data-Intensive Applications
  • Familiarity with GraphQL and/or gRPC, property based testing (QuickCheck)
  • Experience with automated UI testing, using tools such as Selenium or Puppeteer
