At Verisign, we operate some of the world's busiest and most critical internet infrastructure. We do this at tremendous scale, processing 100s of billions of transactions each day. Our products include DNS registry management for .com, net, .gov, .tv and many others. We operate services that are relied upon every day by the world’s 3 billion Internet users.
Verisign’s Edge Build Automation team is forming to build our capability to continuously deliver software to Verisign’s edge sites. The team will work closely with software engineers who are continually improving the Verisign’s resolution site software and staff from operations who manage and automate critical Internet services. You will be a member of this team as it is beginning to shift software delivery to a continuous delivery model.
An ideal candidate should deeply care about productivity and automation, be fluent in one or two programming languages, have experience with automating across multiple layers from operating systems (hypervisor and guests for virtualized environments) as well as application software, and be eager to learn as needed. They should understate Computer Science fundamentals accompanied by hands-on problem-solving experience involving automation, continuous delivery, and building task-specific tools. Ideally the candidate will have demonstrated experience delivering scalable and maintainable solutions with a passion for easy-to-understand implementations.
The candidate will be involved in all aspects of productivity improvements, including ideation, design, implementation, deployment, and promotion of productivity-enhancing solutions. This will often imply regular cross-team collaboration with Engineering, Security, and Operations. We expect the candidate to take full ownership of the improvements, regularly communicating with multiple engineering teams, proactively identifying, prioritizing, and solving their common productivity issues.
