As a Sr. Software Development Manager on the OCI Marketplace Team, you will recruit and lead an experienced, creative, and visionary software development team to build out a new marketplace service. Your team will drive and own innovations that will make it easier for our customers to shop for, purchase, and provision both simple and complex software installations on our cloud. You will grow your team by recruiting talented engineers and nurturing the career growth of the engineers already on your team. You will help us grow a cloud from a nascent state to its maturity.
The Marketplace is where our customers will go to purchase pre-configured software installations on the platform of their choice. The challenges here are across the entire stack, from back-end distributed services operating at cloud scale, to e-commerce transactions, to the actual web apps that users interact with. This is the perfect role for someone experienced in running teams operating across an entire stack, especially in a start-up style environment.
As a manager on this team, your responsibilities will include direct management of software engineers, strategic planning, product definition, managing operational challenges at scale, project management for software within the team, and quality of the software development process. Additionally, as our organization is growing, hiring top-notch engineers will be a key focus.
Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
