Are you someone who likes solving problems? Can you look at a system see what is needed and come up with the right solution? If so we are looking for an experienced site reliability engineer that will scale our digital development group and automate our application reliability.  You will work on a team of amazing software engineers that are building applications that solve insane problems. How do you make a complex transaction like purchasing and installing a residential energy system as simple as buying a book online?  How do you optimize the order, design, and delivery process in countries around the world? You will not be asked to take orders. You’ll be expected to scale the software team that is creating something the world has never seen.


·         Improve and streamline CI/CD process to reduce our time to market

·         Automate maintenance of production applications

·         Build and deploy full stack applications that facilitate the acquisition and fulfillment of Tesla energy products

·         Collaborate with product leads, designers, application engineers, and QA to build, test, and deploy new features to millions of users on tight schedules

·         Work closely with our support and QA team to rapidly diagnose and resolve network, compute, storage, and web caching issues

·         Peer review code and mentor otherdevelopers in all things devops

·         Advocate for top-notch design standards and lead process improvements in collaboration with architects, designers, and product managers

·         Build development automation tools that scale our team


·         Bachelordegree (or equiv exp) and 3+ years of experience in devops or site reliability

·         Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins

·         Experience orchestrating containerized applications (we currently use docker+kube)

·         Experience with data/integration systems such as MySQL, Redis or RabbitMQ

·         A genuine curiosity for computers and software

·         Tenaciousness and grit to do what is needed to execute on the best solution

·         Ability to think strategically and autonomously; you will make independent decisions in alignment with Tesla’s strategy and vision

·         Strong command of a first principles approach to problem solving

·         Fine-tuned attention to detail and pixel-perfection execution

·         Experience orchestrating containerized applications (we currently use docker+kube)

·         Mastery of one back-end language

·         Experience with orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is a plus

·         Expertise in one of c# .NET core, golang, javascript, Python, SQL is a plus
