Senior Services Operations Specialist
The Manager, Services Operations manages a function and/or several programs of a business group’s business operations and/or program management function(s), including the management of related projects, resource, forecast process, tracking revenue and costs, and team management to ensure meeting the organization’s goals and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Operations
- Manages a function of a business group’s business operations and/or program management function
- Works toward the achievement of business objectives
- Acts as key point of contact between technical teams and senior stakeholders
- May represent the business group and/or programs with the IT or Workday team for needs, issues and reporting requirements
- Provides operational reporting to the business/program leadership for recruiting
- Creates, fosters and maintains relationships with employees and management team
- Develops and maintains necessary documentation according to department and company policies and procedures
- Identifies and effectively implements process improvements across the organization
Project Management
- Prioritizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously
- Drives Risk/Issue resolution to completion
- Identifies process improvement areas
- Manages change in scope, schedule and cost
- Manages cross team communication and dependencies
- Leads and manages other special projects as necessary
Recruiting and On-Boarding
- Work with internal recruiting team to identify new talent
- Review and analyze resumes
- Interview potential new joiners using standard interview techniques
- Schedule and conduct Product Specific Interview assessment, as needed
- Introduce new hires to the organization and walk them through the training process
Team Management
- Manages resources that don’t have customer assignments, insuring they remain productive
- Administers and communicates expectations, enforcing policies and procedures
- Mentors and develops team members
- Performs other related duties and activities as required
Other
- Work with Duck Creek University to add additional courses and maintain current library
- Maintain Estimators and Staffing Plan for all Duck Creek Products
- Update sandbox environments with latest version of Duck Creek Example Platform
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, or higher education level, or its foreign equivalent, with 8-10 or more years of professional experience; or
- Master’s degree and 6-8 years of professional experience;
- 4-6 years’ experience in a Program/ Project Management, Business Analyst, or Project Administrator role
- 4-6 years related industry experience in IT, Insurance and/or Project Management
- Additional experience may be required depending on the business group’s function
Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
- Experience/knowledge of Duck Creek Example Platform required
- Experience/knowledge of software development life cycle for P&C insurance software
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a local and offshore teams
- Acts independently and requires minimal direction
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time and priority management skills to drive expected outcomes, and works effectively with tight deadlines
- Ability to drive third party relationships when required
- Strong problem solving and analytical skill
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills, and comfortable presenting to senior management
- Ability to build relationships with internal departments
- Highly effective in collaboration across teams
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Proficiency in Workday
