Amadeus Hospitality (ACRS & APMS) is looking for an experienced engineer to contribute to the future of platform, infrastructure and operational model.
The goal of a Senior Service Reliability engineer is to accelerate the organization's ability to reliably and consistently deliver changes to customer by developing standardized automation to form a common continuous deployment pipeline, considering the variety of the technology and infrastructure used in Hospitality.
You will also have the opportunity to think out of the box to propose, analyze and implement new way to deliver, operate, monitor and maintain the platform while focusing on process efficiency, service reliability, scalability, and performances.
Are you the next Senior Service Reliability Engineer we are looking for?
In this role you’ll:
Support an ultra-highly available cloud-based applicative platform for Amadeus customers.
Support application deployments, building new systems and upgrading and patching existing ones.
Support commercially driven Service Level Agreement (SLA), Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) objectives. Minimize the RTO and RPO metrics and devise strategies for improvement.
Participate in software design to guarantee the proper operability of the solution. Provide technical direction and clarification of requirements to software agile development teams, integration, and testing staff.
Drive the technical solution design, the architecture decision and delivery effort, including hands-on technical work.
Provide top-tier technical escalation support across the technology estate, liaise with development, support, infrastructure, and security as required.
Be able to provide fact-based troubleshooting and triaging when at times at high pressure to resolve root cause.
Monitor usage of the platform(s) for efficiency and consumption optimization. Contribute to the platform topology related matters such as scaling up/out, cost optimization and creating templates and scripts for optimized cycle times.
Facilitate implementation of new platforms following agile best practices, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-As-Code
Document and deliver technical training
About the ideal candidate:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Excellent understanding of Software Engineering methodologies and development cycle (Open Source development), including Version Control system (GIT) and Continuous Integration and testing methods (Jenkins)
Strong knowledge on Service Oriented Architecture design patterns
Good understanding of security information and event management technologies
Good knowledge in Networking is needed, including:
Communication Protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, HTTP/S)
Load balancing techniques, traffic routing, and caching for distributed applications, scalability
Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving system level issues on large, busy networks
Proficiency in deployment and infrastructure configuration management tools (such as Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, etc)
Excellent knowledge in Linux operating system administration (RHEL)
Good understanding of Linux Containers deployment technologies (Docker)
Good knowledge of C, C++, or Java, and Shell, GO or Python
Understanding of monitoring tools and concepts (Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana, ElasticSearch)
Exposure to cloud systems and related ecosystem (ACS, OpenStack, AWS API, Azure, etc...)
Very good knowledge in relational DB (Oracle, MySQL) and noSQL technology (CouchBase)
Experience on Azure DevOps is a plus
Strong sense of collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders.
Good exposure to Agile methodologies
