Duties:
  • As part of Quantitative Sciences team, utilize big data to analyze the safety and efficacy claims of our company's potential medical breakthroughs.
  • Review quality and reliability of clinical studies using deep scientific knowledge, statistical analysis and high-quality data to support decision making in clinical trials.
  • Support statistical programming activities for late-stage drug/vaccine clinical development projects, which may include leadership of 1+ projects.
  • Develop and execute statistical analysis and report deliverables (e.g., safety and efficacy analysis datasets, tables, listings, figures), which range from individual clinical trials to worldwide regulatory application submissions and post marketing support.
  • Design and maintain statistical datasets that support multiple stakeholder groups, including clinical development, outcomes research and safety evaluation.
  • Act as key collaborator with statistics and other project stakeholders to ensure project plans are executed efficiently with timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Effective analysis and report programming development and validation utilizing global and therapeutic area (TA) standards and following departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good programming practices.
  • Maintain and manage project plan including resource forecasting. Coordinate activities of global programming team that includes outsource provider staff.
  • Serve as member of departmental strategic initiative teams.


Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Biotechnology, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Life Sciences, Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the position offered or related.
  • Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Life Sciences, Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in the position offered or related.
  • Must have 3 years of experience with all of the following: SAS programming in a clinical trial environment; developing analysis and reporting deliverables for Research and Development projects (data, analyses, tables, graphics, listings); working with systems and database such as SAS and Oracle; designing and developing complex programming algorithms; working with analysis plans which may describe methodology to be programmed; applying statistical terminology and concepts; working with clinical data management concepts; working with Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) and Analysis Dataset Model (ADaM) standards; ensuring process compliance and deliverable quality; and designing statistical databases to optimize analysis and reporting and leverage departmental standards and industry best-practices.

Schering-Plough develops products targeting on allergy, cancer, hepatitis, cardiovascular, central nervous system, respiratory system, and more.  It was founded in 1851 by Ernst Christian Friedrich Schering as Schering AG in Germany.
