Responsible for overseeing high level application development projects and providing guidance to junior members of the Applications and Applied Technology group. The role of the Applications and Applied Technology Group will be primarily to support the Marketing Dept. in producing application work and solutions for growing/hot market segments to promote the growth of Phenomenex products.
Duties & Responsibilities:• At the guidance and direction of Marketing/Product Managers, study and understandanalytical methods and problems within rapidly growing and/or strategic areas of separation science.• Research, develop and present solution-oriented separation and sample preparation methods for “hot” or strategic areas based on Phenomenex technology and products.• Interface directly with Marketing and Sales groups to achieve project goals• Develop and interact with advisory groups of customers and industry partners to facilitate new method and product development.• Provide guidance and feedback to R&D, Marketing and Sales departments on key criteria of new analytical areas and/or new product developments• Work with R&D, Sales and Marketing to launch and promote new methods and products to the scientific community.• Provide support to Marketing on brochure, web, technical and seminar content.• Travel as required (10- 15%) to meet program goals.• Manage project, lab and staf effectively to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.• Hire, train, and review employees in group.• Performs other job duties as assigned.
