We seek a highly motivated, productive and creative Senior Scientific Researcher to join our endeavor in basic neuroscience research and pursuit of innovative treatments for CNS diseases. The individual will use a variety of molecular, cellular, genetic, and pharmacological techniques to investigate mechanisms of neurodegeneration/repair and identify therapeutic targets. He/she will be expected to independently design, execute and analyze experiments, as well as frequently interact and communicate with other groups as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team. This is a hands-on laboratory position with abundant opportunity for collaboration with other researchers in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Who You Are
Applicants should have a relevant PhD with a strong research background in molecular and cellular biology. Postdoctoral experience is a plus. The ideal candidate will have research experience in neurodegenerative diseases, glial cell biology, and/or neuroimmunology. Qualified candidates will have expertise in a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques including in vivo rodent models, isolation and culture of primary cells, functional assay development, immunohistochemistry, Western blot, and flow cytometry. Proficiency with single-cell profiling, CRISPR, and analysis of NGS, though not required, is a plus, as is experience with clinical samples. A track record of completing challenging technical problems independently and creatively, exemplified by publication of research in high-quality scientific journals is required.
