The Scheduler develops planning and scheduling activities for a variety of construction projects throughout California and surrounding States. The position works directly with the project teams. The ability to deliver an on-time Project Schedules at all levels is essential. The Scheduler must be a team player and have strong organizational and problem solving skills.
The Project Scheduler will supervise and direct all planning and scheduling activities of Projects through application of diversified controls, systems, principles and practices. The position works under direct supervision, gathers and distributes information and reports directly to the Project Manager and the Chief Scheduler.
What You’ll Do:
Plan, coordinate, supervise and direct all planning and scheduling activities for large scale construction projects;
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications for the development of schedules;
Provide development / implementation of the Projects using project controls standards and procedures;
Interface / maintain / liaison with the Project Management, Owners, Subcontractors, etc. on all planning and scheduling related items and functions including reporting requirements, progress status, delay analysis and time impacts, etc.;
Represent the Company and/or the Project in meetings with the Owners, A/E representatives and other Contractors as required;
Insure that the Corporate Planning and Scheduling Standards are implemented and that all project related activities comply;
Ensure all level of schedules are in conformity with the “Contract Documents” issued by the Clients / Owned;
Perform additional scheduling related assignments as required by Project Management;
Work with Estimating Department to develop bid schedules;
Assist in maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clients.
Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment and Skanska Safety and Health Management Program;
We’re Looking For:
Cost, Quantities and Manhours loading and the activity level;
Excellent knowledge of Earned Value Management System and its derivatives CPI and SPI;
Able to manage and coordinate with the Project Team to generate monthly status updates and narrative reports as required and stipulated by the Contract Documents of the Owner / Client;
Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products;
Strong time management and organizational skills;
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times;
7+ years of related experience on heavy infrastructure projects required, heavy civil experiencepreferred;
Bachelor’s Degree – Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent degree.
