Duties and Responsibilities:
•Must have a strong enterprise technical SAP Basis infrastructure background ensuring high availability and superior performance in a 7x24 global delivery model.
•Responsible for all aspects of the SAP technical landscape, performance optimization and process enforcement to provide secure and reliable application performance across the SAP and ecosystem which include associated Middleware and bolt-on applications. Specific to this will be the following day to day responsibilities:?SAP Performance Monitoring and tuning
Solution Manager configuration and ongoing support
?SAP Transport Management
?SAP client copy, system copy, refresh, license management
?SAP Security parameter management
?SAP Router configuration and ongoing support
?SAP Batch job creation and maintenance
?SAP Backup and restores
?SAP Data administration
?SAP HANA and Oracle databases management
?SAP kernel maintenance and patch management
?SAP Traces and logs
?SAP data and Business Document archiving maintenance
?SAP print / spool creation and management
?Day to day support of Linux and Widows SAP ecosystem operating systems
?Maintain up-to-date SAP ecosystem documentation and inventories across the enterprise.
•Other responsibilities include:?Responsible for dual run SAP landscapes and migrating from legacy (ECC) to new (HANA). Including strategy around technical and limited functional data migrations between the two.
?Provide technical expertise in the domain of SAP Basis services in the areas of operations, project management, and serve as an escalation resource for all technical needs.
?Coordinate and execute upon approval adjustments and changes that increase performance and availability.
?Work with the Director SAP Basis and Middleware to manage all related vendor support contracts and assigned staff for hardware, OS, database, application software, and connectivity.
?Ongoing review of capacity utilization for the legacy and new SAP landscape to align with budget planning.
•Assist in developing project budgets to ensure business maximizes value on dollars expended on projects, systems, and vendor relationships. Prioritize and plan technology/service/support solutions within annual budgets (business-as-usual and investment).
•Ensure availability and optimal performance of services through continuous assessment of IT infrastructure operations.
•Provide advance notification of all planned system and IT Infrastructure scope outages and set realistic expectations on availability.
•Work with the other IT towers, in particular the technical architects in these towers and the change management team ensure all change meet or exceed architectural guidelines and to schedule as appropriate.
•Assess technical risk and provide timely mitigation and remediation plans.
•Evaluate new technology and tools and build business cases for their use in the SAP ecosystem.
•Oversees technical design documentation process for correctness and timeliness.
•Participate in cross functional project reviews and Identify high risk areas pertaining to the SAP ecosystem.
•Experience with the configuration and use of SAP specific scheduling, management and monitoring tools such as Redwood and Solution Manager.
•Responsible for the SAP setup in a High Availability and Disaster Recovery configurations. Plan and participate in ensuring design and operational configuration aligns with stated RPO and RTO.
•Plan and participate Disaster Recovery exercises for the in scope SAP landscape.
•Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
•5+ years of experience with broad and deep technical knowledge of technical SAP ecosystem design, implementation, and performance management while in ongoing operations across a global footprint.
•2+ years of management scope work to outsource vendors in SAP Basis or related IT scope for project and steady state services.
•A self-starter with a strong interest in technology and the ability to deal with a fast paced environment and ambiguity.
•Strong understanding of technical troubleshooting methodology for complex global SAP landscapes.
•Experience in design, build and operate of global scope SAP landscapes.
•Experience with dual stack support (ABAP and Java stacks).
•Experience with Oracle, SQL and HANA databases.
•Experience in the aspects of performance engineering of in-flight and in-production SAP ecosystems.
•Ability to facilitate problem solving among administrative groups with varying needs and priorities, and to communicate well with administrative users, technical staff, and senior management.
•Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills across organizational boundaries.
•Expert knowledge of practical application of IT infrastructure technology.
•Strong customer service skills.
•Ability to work with a range of technical staff to develop joint solutions in project and ongoing support situations.
•Ability to achieve efficiencies through workflow improvement.
•Experience with AWS (or other major cloud provider) server / instance management and monitoring in the domain of SAP is a plus.
•Experience with middleware platforms such as SAP PI and Tibco is a plus.
•Certification in one or more areas of SAP administration a plus.
