Job Description:

Summary: The position is crucial to building and maintaining a world class Sales Operations Capability.The Sales Operations team works closely with sales, marketing, finance and operations to facilitate and optimize information to help the company operate smarter, more efficient and more informed. The analyst will take a lead role in the design, preparation and distribution of sales and marketing reports. This involves assessing the desired data needs of the Sales and Marketing teams and preparing reports and analyses to reflect those requirements. Often, effective reporting and synthesis of data requires close partnership with finance and other teams to share information to ensure accuracy and relevance.
The Analyst operates as the corporate liaison with the external field sales and marketing teams on daily sales operational activities. The Sales Operations Analyst manages multiple databases, analyzes trends, conducts ROI on sales incentives and presents results to the sales management team. The majority of the work performed by this function is confidential and requires a high degree of accuracy, personal integrity and professionalism. This position will report directly to the Director, Sales Operations and will work indirectly with several departments on various projects related to sales support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:.

  • Prepare month-end and quarter-end field analytics package to Sales and Marketing while maintaining processes and systems to produce required analyses
  • Develop, interpret and report on revenue synergies between the different sales divisions. Provide timely, accurate, and effective communication of results to the Sales Leadership Team.
  • Partner with marketing and the sales teams to assess economic viability of corporate initiatives and projects related to National Accounts, promotional programs, contribution analyses, cannibalization impact, and other ad-hoc activities to support the division.
  • Oversee sales force analysis regarding distributor and sales rep performance, sales force alignment, quota allocation, and quota changes.
  • Develop sales tools and provide training and support of these tools to field sales.
  • Perform proactive territory analysis to identify issues and provide solid recommendations for improvements, having a direct impact on sales performance.
  • Participate and represent Sales Operations in cross-functional business projects interfacing with IT, Finance, Marketing, Sales, H.R., Customer Care, and Compliance.
  • Manage & maintain multiple customer and rep databases for sales reporting to include CRM, sales lead tracking, competitor impact, and market share penetration. Analysis will be required at the corporate, divisional and territory level.
  • Extract data from systems via SQL queries, Cognos Impromptu, Access, and Excel. Perform analysis and reporting on data as assigned.
  • Develop a working relationship with sales management, Finance, Financial Analytics and IT to research changes that will impact long term sales deployment needs. Analyze the impact of new product launches, cross selling, competitor analysis, and 5 year strategic plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting is required. MBA preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of specific related experience in a Sales Operations or similar Finance role is required. If candidate has an MBA, 5 years of experience required.
  • Advanced level skills with Excel (including PivotTables), Access and database extraction skills required. Very strong working knowledge of SQL, Cognos, Crystal reports, data warehousing, AlignStar and ERP systems are preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills are required. Must possess the ability to effectively present to a large group.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while achieving time sensitive deadlines.
  • Experience working cross-functionally among teams and business groups.
  • Experience implementing projects, developing processes and rules associated with IT, Sales, and Marketing is required.
  • Ability to thrive in a demanding, change-oriented, fast-paced environment requiring a high degree of deadline-driven productivity is required.

Language Ability:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

Math Ability:

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

  • Advanced level skills with Excel (including PivotTables), Access and database extraction skills required. Very strong working knowledge of SQL, Cognos, Crystal reports, data warehousing, AlignStar and ERP systems are preferred.
