Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Senior Sales Engineer will help drive the way in which CBTS technologies are sold in the marketplace. This role is tasked with expanding CBTS' reach, influence, and sales across North America. The objective of this position is to help change the way managed cloud technologies are sold in the channel and connect with customers by telling a compelling technical story.
Essential Functions:
- Own a queue of UCaaS, CCaaS, IP Route/Switch, SD-Wan, and Cloud opportunities requiring complex sales engineering
- Responsible for assisting in the prospecting, solution discovery, selling, and closing of major opportunities
- Track and report on opportunities and sales
- Display proficiencies in the following areas:
- IP addressing, ports, routing, and protocols
- DNS resolution
- MPLS and Metro Ethernet
- PSTN call delivery and 911
- UCaaS, CCaaS, and PBX Telephony
- SD-WAN technologies
- Cloud and customer premise security
- Controlling an effective solution discovery session
- Whiteboarding either in person or via WebEx
- Train and/or explain complex solutions to a non-technical audience
- Manage sales numbers and track opportunities in CRM
- Maintain healthy and positive working relationships
- Conveying the value of Managed OPEX Solutions
Experience:
- Over 10 years of experience
- Experience in consultative solution selling
- Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Project management experience
- Experience leading work teams
- Cisco telephony, security, and route/switch knowledge a plus
Education
- Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses:
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent skills
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to develop and deliver written and oral customer presentations
- Ability to develop relationships with customers, prospects, and internal company resources (e.g., architects, pre-sales engineers, and sales staff)
- Ability to create saleable solutions from business / IT challenges, issues, and problems
- Ability to draw the logical and mathematical correlation between the opportunity presented and the possible solutions
- Ability to create a cost/benefit analysis and communicate to customers and other stakeholders
- Ability to make decisions impacting the relationship between the company, partners, and the customer
- Ability to think creatively within defined parameters when presenting to customers regarding IT and budget challenges/issues
