  • Job Description

    LinQuest is seeking an RF/Communications engineer capable of leading the integration of the Ka-band handheld transceiver project. This individual will be the PM and lead engineer working withRF/antenna and modem subcontractors.  The effort includes the integration of the products and demonstration of the product over a commercial satellites.  The project is in the final stages of the integration and test.  Both subcontractors are nearly completed with their products.  The spec and interfaces are mature, the only part of the project that remains in the final integration and test, once factory acceptance is completed.  




    • Perform PM duties (Monthly reports, weekly tag-ups with the subcontractors)
    • Technical lead – ensure delivered products meet spec
    • Lead the message exchange server development
    • Perform final integration at the Chantilly lab
    • Coordinate with the commercial satellite operator (once on contract) to setup the gateway modems and final over the air (OTA) testing
    • Perform OTA testing and proof of concept demonstration
    • Supervise junior engineers assigned to the project.


  • Requirements

    Required Skills:

    • RFexperience – antenna, up/down conversion, power amps, mixers, etc.
    • Modem experience – BPSK, QPSK, SSMA waveforms
    • SATCOM experience – to include performing link analysis
    • Experience within a lab working with a modems and RF components and test equipment (e.g. spectrum analyzer, power meter, SNR measurements)
    • Strong knowledge of MS office, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Must have an activeTop Secret/SCI clearance to be considered for this position


    Preferred Skills:

    • PM experience plus above engineering skills


    Required Experience: 

    • BSEE or MSEE – 10+ yrs experience in Satellite communications


    Preferred Experience:

    • MSEE – 15+ yrs experience in Satellite communications
