Responsibilities: Improve robotic and vision-based systems for agriculture; implement deep-learning-based classification systems for identifying, characterizing and classifying plants; develop new methods for improving detection performance and increasing processing speed; work withsoftware team to transition processing from desktop/server class machines to real-time, field robotic systems; architect and develop data processing and annotation pipelines for continuous system monitoring and improvement; research new state of the art methods in machine learning literature; maintain architectures for training neural networks on GPUs and distributed environments; provide technical support for robotic systems; process or interpret signals or sensor data; design robotic systems, such as automatic vehicle control, autonomous vehicles, advanced displays, advancedsensing, robotic platforms, computer vision, or telematics systems; write algorithms or programming code for robotic applications; conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of robotic mechanisms, components, or systems, such as planetary rovers, multiple mobile robots, reconfigurable robots, or man-machine interactions; design robotics applications; design software to control robotic systems; experience implementing Deep Learning based classification systems for characterizing and classifying natural objects using Deep Learning software frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch or MxNet in Python and C++; experience working in a Machine Learning and Computer Vision research lab; experience deploying robotic systems to solve real-world problems with semi-autonomous field machinery; creating statistical and predictive models based onagricultural imagery.



Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or foreign academic equivalent plus 2 years of related experience. Willaccept any level of experience in the following skills: experience implementing Deep Learning based classification systems for characterizing and classifying natural objects using Deep Learning software frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch or MxNet in Python and C++; experience working in a Machine Learning and Computer Vision research lab; experience deploying robotic systems to solve real-world problems with semi-autonomous field machinery; creating statistical and predictive models based on agricultural imagery.
