Senior Regional Human Resources Manager

Rasmussen College

Open to internal applicants within the HR Department through close of business on Friday, December 14th.

The Senior Regional Human Resources Manager works at a high level with a significant degree of independence to support and advise assigned business units on all personnel matters, including but not limited to workplace planning, employee satisfaction and retention, performance management, coaching and mentoring, and employment separations. The Senior Regional Human Resources Manager will independently define, lead, and execute on HR strategic objectives that support both operational and talent management needs for the organization. Additionally, this role will lead the other human resource managers and support the Human Capital department in establishing and achieving the team’s strategic objectives and by acting as the HR lead on a range of different projects and responsibilities.


  • Lead and develop other human resources managers.
  • Strategize with broad stakeholders to identify, develop, revise, and implement strategic HR project plans, policies, programs, and toolkits to support business needs of the Human Capital department and the College.
  • Act as the primary contact for designated business partners at all levels of the Organization by analyzing, providing interpretation, and reviewing policies and other governing documents to formulate recommendations to management and employees.
  • Providing expert HR advice and guidance to managers and staff on all HR matters, supporting managers in dealing with complex employee relations issues.
  • Assisting employees, managers and leaders with proactive and timely compliance with all HR rules, regulations and laws.
  • Exercise creativity and innovation in providing advice and implementing HR practices to support the business, while maintaining compliance.
  • Ensuring key stakeholders are informed and consulted on relevant changes and personnel matters – within the confines of confidentiality.
  • Coach and train managers on appropriate actions for all types of performance management and employee relations issues that arise.
  • Investigate and resolve complex and time sensitive employee concerns, including those that come from both formal and informal channels.
  • Formulate partnerships across assigned business units which improve working relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Act as a positive and constructive change agent in managing organizational change where this relates to HR related activities.
  • Support and administer performance management system and talent planning initiatives, compensation matters, succession planning, and deliver training on HR processes and tools.
  • Coach leaders in onboarding and employee development.
  • Appropriately manage highly confidential information and records.
  • Act as a role model and ambassador regarding standards of conduct and core values of the department and the College.

Reporting Relationships:

The Senior Regional Human Resources Manager reports to the Vice President of Human Capital.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree or PHR preferred.
  • 10+years’ experience in the Human Resources field serving, for a significant period, as an HR generalist.
  • Human Resources experience must include strong knowledge and familiarity with employee relations, coaching and employee communication.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and project management ownership.
  • Must have knowledge of and effective application in all federal and state employment laws.
  • Must have strong communication skills in both oral and written form.
  • Demonstrated team player.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and knowledgeable and experienced in use of an HR Information System.
  • Experience working with business partners/clients/customers/students representing multiple stages of life and diverse backgrounds/experiences.
