Job Description

Hartford Steam Boiler IIC is seeking an experienced Rate and Filing professional. HSB is growing and so is the Rates and Filings department. It’s an exciting time to join us!

This position will primarily support Personal Lines rate and rule filings. The Senior Rate Filing Analyst is accountable for determining insurance department filing requirements, preparing rate filings, and responding to related objections from Departments of Insurance for all HSB products, Personal and Commercial Lines. This may require coordinating retrieval of information from appropriate HSB functional areas. This position also requires that the employee act as a coach to junior colleagues. The employee will also serve as a technical expert regarding filing issues for business partners, customers, and other stakeholders as required.

Qualifications

Required:
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years making and defending P/L rate filings
Exposure to actuarial ratemating concepts
Communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe

Preferred:
8+ years making and defending P/L rate filings
Experience supporting modelled rates
Project Management
