JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION

Quality Assurance: Develops, implements and maintains technical company and regulatory quality assurance and control systems in the manufacturing facility. Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of Company products. Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both company quality assurance standards/specifications and applicable government regulations/standards such as GMPs and ISO regulations. Performs analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of finished products, in-process materials and bulk raw materials, and recommends corrective actions when necessary. May organize, document, and interpret inspection support documents and records.

Microelectronics Secure Solutions is a business unit of Mercury Systems that delivers dense, rugged, secure, trusted microelectronics packaging to the defense industry. We go to market with High Density Secure Memories, secure and rugged SSDs and custom MCM solutions.

You will be in charge of a team of quality professionals who administer the quality management system and the manufacturing QA team that ensures that all our work is done to the highest standards. Above all, your job will be to help us do the right things from a quality and customer satisfaction perspective.

RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization
  • Provide leadership on continuous improvement
  • Set QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved
  • Define Quality procedures and standards in conjunction with the rest of the business unit management team
  • Consistently work on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues
  • Function as active member of Change Action Board and ECN review board
    • Ensure that business unit policies and procedures align with corporate vision
    • Lead a team of quality professionals that will
      • Work with Purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers and monitor their performance
      • Ensure compliance with customer, national and international quality standards
      • Act as liaison with customers' auditors ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications
      • Audit manufacturing procedures and processes, both internal and at suppliers
      • Timely review and disposition of customer quality flow downs on purchase orders
      • Ensure that our business constantly improves, but informal methods as well as the administration of our CAR and SCAR processes
      • Drive corrective actions and monitor their effectiveness
      • Monitor, analyze and report quality system actions and trends
      • Perform product analyses to determine root cause of failures, isolate problems and monitor corrective action
      • Assess product specifications of the company and its suppliers, and compare with customer requirements
      • Manage the operation of the manufacturing QA team -- accurate and timely inspections and data generation
      • Coordinate customer and government source inspection activities
      • Other duties as assigned

 

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Expert Knowledge of AS9100D
  • Familiar with six sigma quality techniques -- certification preferred
  • Proven track record for high quality product delivery
  • Record of leadership and demonstrated success in collaborative environment
  • Excellent oral, aural and written communication skills
  • Be equally comfortable communicating in conference rooms and shop floors
  • Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to see overall impact of corrective action cases and identify similarities and trends
  • Ability to review procedures and identify potential conflict with other procedures
  • Ability to coach and teach internal associates
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external clients
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, perform root cause investigations and prepare written report of findings
  • Ability to enforce processes firmly, yet tactfully
  • Ability to make technical decisions in the context of business needs and expectations
  • Knowledge of microelectronics manufacturing techniques and materials
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Power user of MS Office

 

Perquisites

  • US Citizen, able to obtain a security clearance.
  • Post education in quality management, including quality auditor training and qualification
  • B.S. Degree in a relevant technical discipline
  • More than 8 years of experience in quality related roles in electronic manufacturing envornment
  • More than 2 years of management experience
