Job Summary

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Senior Quality Analyst – Web Rating to assist with the creation of client-facing web design products.  Applying the latest web industry technologies, the Quality Assurance analyst will complete testing to ensure project deliverables meet the quality needs of the clients, for both new and established web products. 

This includes testing carrier underwriting, modifications to existing and new code, product layouts, and google analytics with multiple browsers.  Through collaboration with developers and analysts to define effective testing solutions, the Quality Assurance analyst will be involved with the translation of business requirements in a manner that results in meeting the client user requirements.  The Quality Assurance analyst is also involved during the project conception, development, and output of web products.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Develop, document, maintain and execute thorough test plans in a timely and efficient manner for all areas of the product from verbal and/or written specifications
  • Communicate defects clearly and concisely using defect tracking tools as well as other methods such as written or verbal form as required
  • Investigate and diagnose Customer Support issues and activities related to the product/projects ensuring timely resolution
  • Develop automated regression testing scripts using automated testing tools

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, technology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of professional experience in web development and/or insurance related field
  • Strong attention to details; the ability to identify discrepancies between actual and expected results
  • Perform appropriate testing methods (Black Box, White Box, Functional, Negative, Regression, Usability, Performance etc.) as applicable to the project deliverables
  • Experience with object-oriented programming and SQL
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent self-management skills; a passion for meeting goals and deadlines
  • Awareness of the Web Application products
  • The ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong follow through and organizational skills
  • Good knowledge of the Rating Services suite of products and related underwriting processes (asset)
  • Insurance related experience (asset)
  • Bilingualism - English and French (asset)
