Responsibilities

  • Manages people and scope of projects
  • Provides team building and mentoring
  • Conducts feasibility studies or produces cost justifications
  • Is familiar with and has experience with recognized PM methodologies
  • Uses metrics and project plan to assess the success of the project and makes necessary changes
  • Manages scope changes and communicates the impacts, secures approval when needed
  • Proficient at project estimating
  • Develops a project plan using standard project management tools
  • Scope of responsibility includes any and all phases of the project life cycle as well as project team management and possible budget administration
  • Develops and implements communication plan
  • Develops and manages project budgets
  • Negotiates effectively for key resources and can screen and select team members
  • Manages project risk factors and reports the same to client management
  • Tracks resources and assures deliverables are met
  • Reports project progress to project sponsors and executive management
  • Conducts knowledge transfer and project postmortem for lessons learned and improving best practices
  • Has experience developing and managing RFP’s or has been directly involved in this process
  • Has training in Change Management and if familiar with integrating Change Management principles in projects

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of PM experience
  • Able to manage up to 5 projects simultaneously depending on size and complexity
  • Can manage project budgets up to $5M and team sizes of 20+ people
  • Managed 2+ projects with Project budget of $500K or more and team sizes of 20+ people
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated use of a structured iterative methodology; published methodology exposure a plus
  • May have PMP certification – enables them to understand the science of Project Management
  • Must have experience using a PM tool, i.e. tracking plan & actual statistics from inception through implementation
  • Cross-functional team management experience including departments outside of IT
  • Coaching and mentoring experience
  • Worked with executive team of companies with $500M+ in revenue
