What This Position Is All About:

As part of the Store Planning and Design Team, the Senior Project Designer / Store Planner�s primary focus will be the Vendor Shops & Merchant Initiatives within the assigned merchant groups. He/She will be the store-planning liaison to the Merchant Group to ensure / support that all merchandise requirements are met for vendor shops & merchant initiatives. The Senior Project Manager / Store Planner will support the Director of Store Planning in meeting the Store Planning / Design and Construction mandates on various roll-outs, major and reflow projects.

Post-Secondary Degree; Bachelor�s Degree

5 years relevant experience.

Sound understanding of the retail/ store planning and design / construction industry.

Basic user of Auto CAD 2012, Word, Excel

3d visualization skills (Sketch-up or 3d-Max ) are an asset.

Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite would be an asset.

Knowledge of current construction practices and materials, mill-working, M&E design, lighting design.

Comprehension and production of construction drawing set.

Has a proven track record to effectively and strategically work in a dynamic, fast paced environment to deliver corporate objectives

Intuitive creative design sense

Excellent oral and written communication skills

A self-starter, energetic and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to prioritize work.

Good problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.

Excellent listening and people skills especially as it relates to maintaining relationships with brands, agencies, merchants and managers.

As The Senior Project Manager/Store Planner, You Will:

Assist in the development of project plans with internal and external stakeholders on all Store Planning and Design Projects as they relate to the Vendor Shops & Merchant Initiatives for the assigned merchant group.

Ensure thorough communication with all internal and external senior management, merchant teams, construction managers, consultants and agencies.

Liaise with the Construction Group to aid the completion of all merchant and capital based projects.

Assist in the communication of design requirements to General Contractors, Subs, Millworkers, Architects and Engineers.

Monitors and facilitates the completion of all projects on a timely basis within budget.

Assist in creating project solutions and manage the implementation of the various concepts.

Work on multiple projects simultaneously and be able to prioritize workload accordingly.

Ensures vendor shop concepts and merchandise initiatives meet the Corporate procedures and guidelines.

Review design drawings from external agencies and millworkers to ensure Saks standards / requirements are met for approval prior to construction

Liaise with external brand designers during the design and planning stage to understand their needs while maintaining Saks Fifth Avenue�s best interest.

Assist with the design development of the shop concepts and merchandise requirements.

Research and select finish materials and provide specification for construction.

Create and maintains project-drawing files on ongoing basis.

Create and maintain project schedules to ensure all assigned projects are complete within the fiscal year.

Create site-specific plans and details for construction documentation.

Attend site meetings and provide written reports.
