The Proposal Project Manager has primary responsibility for leading the proposal process, beginning with initial intake activities and on through to successful proposal submission. The Proposal Project Manager plays a critical role in proposal success. The Proposal Project Manager position within the Proposal Department serves a key role in planning, managing and measuring the overall activities of large scale proposals. The Proposal Project Manager will have responsibility to provide project management planning, execution and reporting to the proposal project team and to the Director, ProposalDevelopment. The Proposal Project Manager will have experience with commercial, government and managed care organization RFPs.
Establish and manage proposal timeline. Identify potential schedule slippages and develop recovery plan. Manage the project plan by ensuring obstacles are identified and mitigated and that deliverables are met on time. Liaison with SMES to ensure writers have what is needed to provide a quality product. Report project status and apprise management of issues requiring resolution in order to maintain progress on a timely basis. Conduct proposal project/status meetings as needed. Ensure pricing/underwriting is on schedule. Evaluate competitor proposals and provide competitor proposal analysis.
Education: BA/BS required; Masters preferred.
Experience: 5-8 years. Job Specific Requirements: At least five years proposal development/mgmt experience in a healthcare setting. Experience in healthcare industry in proposal development/management and/or proposal management. It is preferred that the candidate have experience working on government (Federal, State, County) RFPs and have experience developing and updating compliance matrices. An equivalent combination of experience and education is acceptable.
Other: Proven ability to plan, organize, schedule, direct, control, and monitor project activities. Well developed interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer Skills: MS Project, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Word. Preferred Computer Skills: Software used to develop compliance matrices
