AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager/Facilities Engineer for employment in the Pittsburgh, PA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform as a Senior Project Manager in the Oil and Gas Market and provide guidance to junior project managers
  • Perform as mechanical, process, facility and pipeline design engineer on oil & gas design projects including
  • familiarity with mechanical codes and standards such as B31.3, B31.8, API 2000, 49CFR Part 192and 195, ASME Section 8, etc
  • Perform engineering calculations related to the design standards for natural gas facilities.
  • Implement project information from outside sources/technology format
  • Direct the development of Construction Alignment Sheets, typical construction drawings, and permitting packages
  • Direct the development of drawings/figures as needed per client request
  • Develop P&ID’s and PFD’s as well as review piping and civil drawing packages
  • Develop specifications for gas processing and mechanical equipment packages, work with outside vendors and lead our inside designers
  • Develop pipeline and facility engineering drawing sets issued for approval, bid, and construction packages
  • Lead the preparation of scope and estimates for pipeline engineering work
  • Conduct/attend weekly meetings with client and contractors
  • Attend review meetings with clients to go over design engineering drawings for facilities such as compressor stations, meter stations, etc. and pipeline route development with Client
  • Task delegation to internal staff engineers and designers

Work to reinforce existing knowledge in general pipeline design practices, such as:

  • Valve sizing calculations and piping
  • Meter sites
  • Compressor facilities
  • Preliminary piping and pipeline layout and design
  • Horizontal Direction Drill and Conventional Bore designs

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related field
  • 10+ years of facilities/pipeline engineeringexperience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook)
  • Must be extremely well organized
  • Must possess team leadership and participation skills
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Oil & Gas clients working with facilities and/or pipelines is required
  • Understand mechanicalengineering principles such as stress and vibration analysis, SMYS Calculations, hydrotesting reports, material reports, etc
  • Understand cross country pipeline routing, and the interaction of multiple disciplines in the design of a pipeline route
  • Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test


  • PE, EIT or willingness to obtain and work towards a PE
  • Prior project and personnel management background
  • History of performing in key role and/or managing large projects
  • Experience utilizing survey data
  • Oil and Gas constructionexperience
