The primary duties of the Senior Environmental Project Manager entail day to day project management of CEQA and NEPA documentation, as well as regulatory permitting for a wide variety of large-scale projects in southern California. These projects primarily include environmental task lead roles for transportation projects, water/wastewater and other utility improvement projects , public facilities, utility-scale renewable energy, and land development. The Senior Project Manager’s responsibilities will include preparation, planning, and analysis/review of technical studies, permit applications, CEQA and NEPA documents, and similar reports/documents. Work will be accomplished independently, with general oversight and issue resolution provided by HDR Environmental Business Class Lead, and through coordinating or supervising small to large technical and professional teams from local and regional offices, as well as outside subconsultants. This role will be closely involved in public participation and multiple agency coordination. Will be responsible for project management, including marketing, developing and managing budgets, schedules, quality of products and interview presentations, and public meetings. The position will require travel throughout Southern California.

Bachelors degree in environmental science/planning/engineering or related field. 15+ years of experience in complex environmental planning/compliance projects preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of NEPA and CEQA, and regulatory permitting processes. Experience managing large, complex EIR and/or EIS documents for transportation, large facility, land development, utility improvement projects, utility-scale renewable energy or otherinfrastructure projects. Technical expertise in the design, implementation, interpretation and presentation of data for environmental studies and investigations in specialized discipline. Proficient with MS Office. Self starter with excellent writing and communication skills. Strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving and research abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Staff management experience required.
