Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage multi-million-dollar Design Build transportation projects (highway and or transit/rail) to deliver technical excellence and quality work in accordance with project schedules and budgets
  • Manage staff and activities for a project of significant size and complexity and develop staffing plans and schedules to meet task requirements
  • Lead the technical team through the pursuit to implementation phase of Design Build projects, working with contractors and internal team
  • Bring a "best practice" mindset with an eye to constant improvement and quality in delivery of work product.
  • Perform marketing and networking activities to develop and maintain strong client relationships, expand work, assist with developing strategic teaming partners
  • Mentoring and developing technical capabilities of mid-level and junior staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or relevant field
  • Minimum of 15 overall years of experience with specific, demonstrated Design Manager and/or Project Manager experience on Design Build projects for highway and/or transit/rail projects
  • Professional registration (PE)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in the role of Project/Design Manager for Design Build projects
  • Demonstrated Quality Control / Quality Assurance experience
  • Demonstrated team building and verbal/oral skills
  • Able to foster collaboration between technical and management teams working from other locations
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to travel for work when needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Alternative delivery (design-build) experience for a contractor
  • Civil Infrastructure (roadway/structures) design, program management and/ or construction management experience
  • Experience with state, local, and city agencies/authorities
