Position Description

Convene is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Design and Construction team in New York, NY. The Senior Project Manager will report directly to the VP of Project Execution. The ideal candidate will have multi-faceted experience with design/construction projects in commercial real estate, preferably within a hospitality/retail setting. This is a construction and design focused role for work and event space and not for IT architecture   As a part of the Design and Construction team, they'll be assisting and developing the scope and schedule for projects. The ideal candidate should be able to provide superior client service as well as meet financial and milestone targets according to their project schedule. 

What You’ll Do

  • Develop scope and schedule for assigned projects.
  • Prepare/update project status reports, process purchase orders and invoices, update tracking reports and maintain files for due diligence and financials.
  • Proactively manage project-related issues from Schematic Design through Project Closeout.
  • Conduct and document all project related meetings, including but not limited to, regular design progress meetings with third party vendors/contractors, bid review meetings, project execution meetings, etc.
  • Coordinate and track all vendor RFP’s in coordination with Procurement team. 
  • Maintain accurate and consistent electronic files and documentation.
  • Coordinate activities of contractors and sub-contractors related to project submittals, RFIs, change orders, payment requisitions and punch list signoffs.
  • Prepare/update project status reports, process purchase orders and invoices, update tracking reports and maintain files for due diligence and financials.
  • Demonstrate a proactive focus on meeting client and project requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of all requiredDesign and Construction technology and systems’ platforms as required for assigned projects.
  • Liaise and coordinate with regional General Managers and Facilities Team to investigate and assess project work within existing, legacy portfolio. Support and develop project assessment reports and recommendations for future planning and execution.
  • Comply with all Convene policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practice.
  • Be flexible and adapt as per the growth/direction of the company.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What We Look For

  • Educational degree from an architecture/engineering or design strongly preferred
  • Values alignment and ambassador of Convene culture
  • Ability to prepare and track budgets as well as project schedules
  • Proficiency with reading and evaluating architectural and engineering drawings, furniture and space planning concepts.
  • Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed.
  • 5-7 years of practical experience for managing corporate interior and/or base building construction.
  • Experience in commercial interior and infrastructureconstruction, construction management or real estate preferred. Experience with retail or hospitality projects a plus.
  • Extensive working knowledge regarding construction processes and methods.
  • Extensive working knowledge of lease agreements, due diligence reports and local building codes.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients.
  • Knowledge of project metrics, including reporting, trend analysis, and metrics
  • Organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with WorkSheets and Honest Buildings a plus.
