Brown University Computing and Information Services is seeking an outstanding Senior Project Manager to join the Project Management team.

This position provides Brown University Computing and Information Services (CIS) with project management expertise to lead IT projects from definition and planning through execution and turnover to product management for continuous improvement. The Senior Project Manager ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and that they meet project goals and University expectations as defined by the documented scope, schedule, milestones and success criteria. This is a 3 year project funded position.


-Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and experience. PMP certification a plus.
-8-10 years of IT project management experiencepreferred, including a minimum of 5 years experience planning and managing all sizes of technology projects.

-Experience with sponsored research administration, including proposal and award lifecycle and associated regulatory processes for lab animals, human subjects and conflict of interest preferred.

-Demonstrated ability to define a complex work breakdown structure and drive project execution in an organized and disciplined manner.
-Highly proficient with project management tools.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels in the organization (with senior management, with technical and business-oriented project staff, with users and stakeholders)

-Ability to foster buy-in and cooperation through persuasion, influence, and persistence
-Strong analytical and facilitation skills.
-Ability to work effectively independently, and as a member of a team. Able to negotiate with peers and superiors to ensure the work gets done. Ability to easily multitask.
-  Well organized and capable of tracking, managing, and resolving issues on multiple projects simultaneously.
-Self-motivated, professional, flexible, comfortable with ambiguity in a diverse organizational environment.
