Job Description

LBWS is a multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, planning, federal contracting, and environmental consulting firm with rewarding opportunities available in our Baltimore, MD office for qualified candidates. LBWS is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager with expertise in the design and construction and master planning of large-scale sewer rehabilitation programs.

The candidate will serve as a Senior Project Manager with expertise in collection system master planning and design to support our on going program management services related to large-scale sewer rehabilitation programs. Responsibilities may include:

  • Design management – assist client in managing all aspects of project life cycle including planning, design, specifications development, procurement, construction and post-construction evaluation for multiple, simultaneous sewer collection system design projects performed by other consultants

  • Performing QA/QC for $800 Million of projects in design and construction

  • Oversee and manage on-call sewer point repair, open-cut, CIPP lining, and trench-less projects
  • Recommend appropriate technologies and best practices for sewer design and construction Prepare regulatory correspondence and reports for MDE and EPA

  • Performing risk management on project in program

  • Master Planning experience a plus, to assist client with benefit cost analysis

  • Large interceptor design and constructionexperience

  • Introducing lessons learned and developing processes and procedures to ensure efficient project implementation

  • Assist in project identification, prioritization, and implementation of sewer collection system rehabilitation projects and evaluate optimal technologies such as trenchless technologies

  • In Depth understanding of Baltimore City design Standards and Guidelines or other similar standards

  • Life cycle cost estimating of sewer collection system

  • Perform design reviews for sewer collection system projects

  • Perform analysis of sewer overflow data and collection system data

  • Attend and lead regular progress meetings related to sewer collection system projects

  • Evaluate permitting and regulatory requirements and provide status reports related to sewer collection system projects Client Staff training

Required Experience

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering. Masters of Science preferred
  • Minimum of 10 to 15years experience in wastewater collection system design, with preference given to large-scale municipal type design and not private site development related sewer design and preference given to past advancement from design work to project management for sewer-related projects.
  • Maryland PE, or out-of-state PE with ability to obtain reciprocity in MD, required
  • Sewer Collection Construction Management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Team player
  • Ability to lead and conduct large meetings and work in a client setting
  • Excellent computer skills with Primavera Contract Manager and P6 experience a plus
  • GIS experience is preferred, but not required.
  • PACP and MACP Certified, a plus but not required
