Primary responsibilities include:

  • Managing a staff of colleagues, Contractor Project Managers and Business Analysts working on the Marketing and Digital projects, providing guidance and support, helping navigate through any project challenges and assigning resources as needed to new and existing initiatives
  • Leading team using an Agile project delivery methodology

  • Creating and fostering a climate of adding value in delivering projects by striving for excellence and contributing to the overall development of Project Management

  • Scoping, planning and managing projects through the entire life cycle, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality

  • Accurate and timely reporting against the project plan and budget in line with agreed Program governance

  • Ensuring each project adheres to the governance required by Program Office; identifying, evaluating and ensuring appropriate mitigating actions and plans are in place for all project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies

  • Ensuring projects meet internal and external customer requirements; these expectations apply to projects the Senior Program Manager is managing as well overseeing the projects their staff is managing

  • Managing a portfolio of projects related to specific Consumer business lines

  • Holding themselves and their team fully accountable for successful project management including ownership of results, ownership of budgeting and forecasting, escalation and resolution of issues and definition of project deliverables

  • Demonstrating leadership with strong communication, organizational, presentation, negotiation, and customer service skills

  • Liaising with the business line and technology teams, helping to translate business needs to technical needs and interpret technical information for the business lines

  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with peer-level stakeholders across the business

  • Ensuring robust structures are in place to deliver, monitor and review project initiatives

  • Identifying new projects and guiding the business through new project prioritization process

  • Working with the technology leads to gather high level estimates for new projects and ability to work with the project teams to refine the estimates provided on projects in flight

  • Promotion of an environment of continuous improvement

  • Developing, planning, and implementing activities that will enable a highly motivated and highly performing team to deliver team objectives

  • Fostering an environment of cooperation and change

  • Preparing documentation for senior level meetings and comfortable discussing project details with all levels of management


Required Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ years of project management experience
  • Portfolio management experience
  • In-depth knowledge and proven application of project management methodologies (Agile and Waterfall) and full project lifecycle including documentation standards, risk, issue, assumption and dependency management and change controls process
  • Knowledge of banking products and terminology
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office applications to include Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word
  • Self thinker able to work through issues and escalate only when appropriate
  • Ability to identify the impact of project deliverables on the customer and ensure these fully support the customer proposition
  • Ability to maximize the customer experience and minimize risk and cost of change
  • Staff management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/programs at the same time
  • Excellent communication and written skills

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge of Online Banking and Mobile and other digital applications


  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • PMP Certification preferred
