As a Senior Product Manager, this role is responsible for the achievement of strategic objectives (revenue, profit, ROIC, market share, etc.) for the assigned product category through the development and execution of multi-generational product plans. This roles is responsible to plan, organize, and execute successful portfolio and channel initiatives from conceptual stages through the product life cycle to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate financial objectives. 



  • Own and deliver the budgeted financial and strategic performance objectives
  • Lead the development of strategic vision and direction/plan for the product category
  • Create and implement a multi-generational product plan with product offering, pricing/margins, channel differentiation, and positioning that delivers competitive advantage and drives profitable growth.
  • Assist in the development of the annual operating plan for product lines
  • Capture “voice of customer” feedback from consumers, customers, and key influencers, and translate into strategy for product positioning, pricing, communication, and innovation/MGPP
  • Drive the Stage-Gate new product development process in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Set product pricing in partnership with Pricing, Sales, and Finance
  • Work with Product and Channel Marketing to create effective product launch, promotion and communication strategies for consumers, key influencers, and tradechannel partners
  • Partner cross-functionally to support operational excellence
  • Collaborate with Sales to achieve the sales operating plan
  • Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape for opportunity
  • Ensure product offering and positioning is consistent with our brand propositions



  • Strong strategic thinking and financial acumen
  • Working knowledge of P&L and product profitability management
  • Strong strategic marketing skills – i.e. brand/product strategy, positioning, pricing, research, etc.
  • Works effectively and positively in a cross-functional team environment and with all levels
  • Excellent customer facing skills
  • Solid analytical skills with ability to manage by data
  • Able to balance conflicting inputs and advocate on behalf of multiple stakeholders
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the product design, manufacturing and supply-chain functions
  • Demonstrated capability in planning, organizing, integrating and measuring programs and projects
  • Strong sense of urgency, high energy, and self-motivation; able to work independently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6-9years of product management experience



  • MBA degree
  • Experience with both consumer products and business-to-business products
  • Experience managing new product development projects with Stage-Gate methodology
  • Experience in the building products industry, working with both retail and non-retailchannels



  • Ability to travel approximately 10-25% to plants, suppliers/partners, trade shows, consumer research, and customers
