About the position

Prudential’s Workplace Solutions Group (WSG), which comprises Prudential’s Retirement and Group Insurance (GI) businesses, and serving over 23 million customers, has a Senior Product Manager role within WSG’s internal consulting practice. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and/or support one or more of the most important WSG initiatives. In this capacity, the successful candidate will perform and lead numerous activities that support development and execution of work related to WSG’s strategic initiatives aimed at creating significant business growth. This involves coordination and alignment of resources and deliverables within WSG, as well as across the component Business Units (BUs) and other Corporate and Business partners.

The selected candidate will play a key role in enabling positive business outcomes and meeting customer expectations, as part of our mission to be an exemplary delivery organization. An ideal candidate should have significant business expertise, product development and/or financial acumen, program/project managementexperience, and business process and technology acumen. This role requires proven ability and agility to navigate complex organizations and quickly learn core business functions. This is a hands-on role where a successful candidate will be expected to be an influential lead, a strong driver of milestones and results, resolving issues, and consistently mitigating risks. While the technical aspects of the role (e.g., project plans, financial plans, risk plans, program-level plans, and associated reporting elements) are table stakes, a successful candidate is also expected to move the initiatives forward within acceptable cost and quality parameters and effectively influence partners and colleagues in a positive and collaborative manner.

Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities:

This individual provides leadership and contributes significantly to the success of strategic projects and initiatives. Responsibilities include:

·       Leading strategy development in partnership with a Senior Initiative Owner and cross-functional business teams

·       Bring thought leadership and innovative ideas to key WSG initiatives and lead execution of product related solutions

·       Drive the accomplishment of product capabilities and enhancements

·       Partner and coordinate across the product and technical teams to clearly understand and address project needs

·       Identify and resolve project issues

·       Lead a cross-functional team through solution creation and execution

·       May also manage other less experienced Product Managers in initiative teams

Qualifications

Qualifications

·         15 or more years of experience, or equivalent education and experience, working in a professional environment in roles of increasing scope and impact

·         Significant experience leading, overseeing and delivering projects or project activities of significant complexity. Using Agile or iterative lifecycles a plus.

·         Financial Services industry experience is strongly desired

·         Significant experience working successfully and influentially with multiple key stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, schedule, and budget

·         Strategic thinker with the ability to execute and deliver solutions

·         Proven ability to adapt to and lead through change quickly and easily and operate effectively through ambiguity

·         Strong team skills to partner with and influence others

·         Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

·         Strong leadership skills and judgment

·         Excellent problem-solving skills

·         Proven record of simultaneously managing multiple, complex, key initiatives

·         Exceptional collaboration, inter-personal, and influencing skills

·         Possess an agile, customer-centric, and intelligent risk-taking mindset

·         Ability to work independently and in rapidly changing environments

·         Strong ability to proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and costs for each assigned initiative

·         Experience with compiling, managing, and maintaining key documentation for project-related artifacts

·         Proficient in using MS Office products: Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and / or otherProject Management tools

·         Flexibility to travel regularly (typically within the Northeast corridor)
