Overview

Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing significant growth, and the Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

The CSCP Strategy and Transformation Engineering team is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to drive next-generation software solutions that deliver customer capacity on time and predictably, while optimizing Microsoft’s investments into cloud services. With an understanding of the customer and the competition, the Senior Product Manager will solve difficult supply chain and operations management problems with software solutions in a critical area for Microsoft. You will dig deep into quantitative and qualitative data to identify and prioritize new product capabilities and champion product roadmaps and customer value to a variety of audiences.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years' experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing systems including custom and 3rd party solutions (such as SAP, Dynamics 365, or other ERP)

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • MBA or MS degree in a quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of supply chain experience, such as Planning, Sourcing/Category Management, Materials Handling, Logistics/Fulfillment, etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills--proven in creating clarity, generating energy, and delivering success
  • Proficient data analysis skills leveraging SQL, Power BI, Kusto, Python, or R.
  • Proven success in collaborating across engineering, business, data science, and operational teams, up to and including working with director level stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply existing concepts and employ new techniques.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Own program management accountability to define and launch the product capabilities that drive the desired business outcomes.
  • Engage with customers and partners to deeply understand the requirements and develop the product roadmap to address those needs.
  • Break ambiguous and complex problems into a manageable list of epics and features with clearly articulated specs.
  • Closely partner with the software engineering teams to land key product capabilities and business goals.
  • Proactively identify critical risks to the product roadmap and KPIs and mitigate those risks by working across all the teams.
  • Continuously engage with customers, partners, and leadership to provide updates on product roadmap and collect actionable feedback.
  • Identify critical data and telemetry required to optimize the product functionality, and work with engineering teams to grow the required data footprint.
  • Manage metrics, dashboards, and analytics that track the performance of the product capabilities against the goals and optimize the product functionality to drive the right performance.
  • Perform rich analysis and develop actionable insights using a variety of data sets.
