Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional product manager to serve as our platform champion and join our team to provide product leadership working with customers, users, stakeholders and the engineering team.

We need a skilled and dedicated product manager who shares our passion and obsession with quality. As part of our team, you must be a data nerd with a strong understanding of how to manage and connect an increasing array of disparate data to power insightful analytics.

Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, the Sr. Product Manager will partner with key stakeholders to develop and empower the product roadmap and prioritize features based on vision, requirements and strategy.

Must be able to work onsite in our Pittsburgh, PA office with the ability to travel to Arlington, VA up to 40% of the time.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert across the entire Govini data & analytics landscape
  • Continuously engage with stakeholders to define requirements that feed Govini's products and services
  • Identify high value data sets that support Govini's product roadmap
  • Determine, prioritize and drive detailed functional specifications for data capture, data linkage and analytics
  • Ensure fidelity between data sources and their presentation within the Govini platform
  • Actively participate in QA across data workflow processes
  • Develop, communicate and regularly measure data KPIs required for product delivery, adoption and impact
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Software Engineers to define product release requirements and plans while maximizing data value and driving speed to market
  • Own customer advocacy; understand how customers get value, prioritize new product development and resolve issues
  • Work to provide continuing education across the product team

Candidate must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-8 years experience managing data driven products with a history of successful product delivery
  • Strong ability to assess customer needs and translate to business cases, market requirements and product specifications
  • Understanding of data and information services business models
  • Ability to draw meaningful connections across data sets
  • Demonstrated ability to balance long-term roadmap vision with the unavoidable shifting of short-term priorities in an agile, startup environment
  • Excellent communication with both client-facing and technical team members
  • High degree of ability to work autonomously with little supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and organized

Desired Skills

  • Experience working with Federal information such as budget and contracting data
  • Experience working with DoD/National Security organizations
  • Proficiency with SQL
  • Usage of Tableau or other visualization software
  • Familiarity with web crawlers
  • Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
  • Understanding of technological infrastructure involved in building data products
