About the role:

  • Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated, experienced electrical engineer and technical leader with expertise in new product development and commercialization of new technologies. 
  • The candidate must be driven to solve technical/complex problems in both a hands-on manner and team setting, working in a fast paced environment, and across multiple functions in a global company.  
  • Responsible for providing electrical and electronic engineering expertise for the design, development, and sustaining of complex electronic medical equipment systems, including sensors, embedded systems, algorithms, hardware, and associated disposable medical devices.
  • Works cross-functionally to lead process development of complex technologies on new products, drive/develop new business activities and rapid prototyping execution, and ensures efficient and effective transfer of product into production.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, and tests electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.
  • Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation.
  • Solves engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
  • Analyzes, evaluates and verifies circuit requirements and systems by using engineering practices.
  • Investigates, researches, selects electronic circuits, components, tools, equipment and practices.
  • Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
  • Tracks electrical development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool.
  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures. 



What we’re looking for:

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of experience OR Master’s Degree with 2+ years of experience
  • Industry experience in electrical or systems engineering
  • Solid lab skills and experience with debug, fixtures, test circuits or electronics circuits
  • Demonstrated cross functional teamwork in technically demanding environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop equipment / fixtures from concept to production
  • Open to occasional travel of up to 25% of their time.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with industry standards-based EMI/EMC and other medical equipment electrical requirements
  • Experience with medical device electronics and systems
  • Experience in Ultrasonics, Ultrasound, and/or shockwave propagation
  • Familiarity with DC motors, motor control circuitry, embedded real-time electronics
  • Experience in working with contract manufacturers and/or material suppliers
  • Strong communications and time management abilities
  • Shows potential for leadership and entrepreneurship
  • Experience with the following: Labview, automation and controls, hardware design.
