We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Principal Training & Education Specialist to work with training Sales and Field employees for Medtronic Pain Therapies. In this role you will partner with US and global stakeholders to define training requirements, develop and maintain the field learning pathway, design appropriate curriculum content and lead education activities for new hire training, product launches, and ongoing field development training.

This position can be located anywhere in the United States and requires 30% travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
**Please note that this role requires flexibility with regard to schedule to support field and customer programs including evenings/nights and weekends as needed.**

A Day in the Life

  • Manage and act as lead facilitator for delivery of therapy and sales curriculum in the US and globally
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders in designing, reviewing, and evaluating the training curriculum
  • Understand sales cycle and basic selling principles and align to training curriculum
  • Apply adult learning principles to the development of training curriculum
  • Measure impact of therapy curriculum and implement recommended and required changes
  • Participate on project teams to define and develop field training materials related to product launches, new therapy introductions, and other business and therapy needs
  • Develop and utilize network of professionals to enhance delivery effectiveness of therapy sales continuum
  • Maintain a high level of competency in disease management, and Medtronic device therapy application and related systems through continuous learning (i.e. seminars, self-study, workshops, literature review, etc.)
  • Ensure personal understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable. Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high quality work.
  • Travel approximately 30%; primarily domestic travel, occasional international

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience includes market development, field engineering or sales in medical devices.
  • 2+ years of experience working with clinicians
  • Experience coaching/training other employees within job area

Nice to Have

  • MBA
  • 3+ years of experience working with Pain medicine, neurosurgery, neurology or other physicians
  • Experience as an instructor, presenter, facilitator in a clinical or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of education development fundamentals
  • Experience with the application of SCS (Spinal Cord Stimulation) and TDD (Targeted Drug Delivery) pain therapies
