Collins Aerospace is seeking a Systems Engineering Lead Investigatorwith an active TSSCI security clearance to work onsite in Richardson, TX. In this role you, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful completion of prototyping efforts on premises and in cloud environments. The Lead Investigator understands the mission requirements and ensures that the system products meet those requirements. The Lead Investigator coordinates directly with many different customer teams, the program leadership team, and other teams to ensure the prototyping efforts meet system requirements.

What You Will Do:

The Systems Engineering Lead Investigator will be responsible for prototype development, issue resolutions, and technological planning for a complex program. You will:

  • Manage end-to-end prototype lifecycle, from conceptual design and lab setup to software configuration, troubleshooting, and final documentation. 

  • Identify material requirements (hardware, software, supplemental staffing, etc.) 

  • Ensure finalized thin-line prototype are validated by the Solution Architect, OCE, and IPAT Lead prior to the start and end of testing. 

  • Primary focus is on the Architect Risk, identified by the Solution Architect. 

  • Create the "thin line prototype" and evaluates technology options. 

  • Identify any problems, around security, scalability, along with the overall solution fits within the DIPN environment. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Experience working with Harvester and Kubernetes

  • Systems of Systems Integration experience (from a design/architecture perspective)

  • Extensive experience designing detailed full-stack platform solutions including trade studies, cost, schedule, and technical aspects

  • Familiarity with most technologies appropriate for deployable open systems infrastructures, including most of the following:

    • MOSA approaches

    • CI/CD

    • Commercial cloud (specifically AWS and Azure), hybrid cloud, edge cloud architectures

    • LINUX-based systems

    • Microsoft echo system including Azure and Azure Stack

    • Microservices/Containerization/Kubernetes & service mesh/routing

    • Modern network technologies (SDWAN, Leaf/Spine, WIFI, MANet/ROIP, SatComm, Starlink)

    • CSfC Encryption

    • Cross-Domain solutions

    • Modernauthorization/ICAM/Zero-Trust architectures

    • Data management/synchronization

    • DDIL and tactical system development

    • Familiarity with operationalUSmilitary systems deployed into the tactical echelon, including specific familiarity with:

    • Tactical and strategic/back-haul voice and data communications, including Tactical Data Links

    • Sensor integration

    • Military Commercial cloud integration

  • Broad experience developing automated deployment and testing of complex systems using Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Rancher Kubernetes.

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TSSCI is required prior to start date

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Curious self-starter that can excel in a prototyping environment to turn customer desire into executable solution candidates. Must be able to consider cost, schedule, technology, and risks.

  • Senior level technical consulting experience including experience interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Successful track record of performing complex system deployments

  • People leadership experience; including mentoring, coaching, and building high performing Engineering teams

  • Familiarity with Enterprise Application development and deployment processes

  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting Kubernetes in DDIL environments.

  • Experience implementing Cloud Service Provider (AWS/Azure) services in DDIL environments.

  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting Service Mesh environments.

  • Extensive Linux development experience

  • Experience with SAFe agile processes

  • Prior military or hands-on experience with tactical military IT systems in production use (e.g., exercises)

  • Familiarity withUSAFoperational and tactical CONOPS

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
