Senior/Principal Professional Services Consultant (NYC Areas)
Datameer is looking for professional services consultants to lead client engagements for our big data analytics product.
You will be working with Customers and other Customer For Life team members and interfacing with Sales, Support, and Product teams that are globally dispersed. You will be integrating Datameer with Customer systems, architecting solutions, solving business problems, and responsible for Customer adoption.
Professional Services consultants are responsible for guiding a customer through full life cycles of business analytic solutions including training, use case discovery and delivery, system integration, custom development, architecture and software development consulting, testing, and deployment. You are hands on and can equally guide and teach as well as produce yourself.
Datameer is looking for candidates with a broad range of technology and interpersonal skills able to design and execute custom solutions and processes for customers leveraging Big Data technologies.
PS consultants are technical champions and evangelists who guide customers through their implementation of a data analytics solution using Datameer. These individuals are customer- and sales-oriented, are capable of independently developing sophisticated BI and data integration solutions, and present technical solutions to broad audiences. The right candidate for this position has a proven track record as consultant with superior technical skills, the ability to lead small teams and to manage strategic client relationships.
The PS consultant will translate customer requirements into a vision and plan to integrate Datameer (and related technologies) into an IT architecture and create an end to end solution.
You should be comfortable working independently while also with a team. You understand how to guide Customers through new challenges and promote your ideas without conflict. You are comfortable with managing risk, learning new things quickly, and adapting to change. You are equally able to communicate to and work withtechnology and business teams.

Technical Skills and Experience
Proven track record of satisfied customers and successful project deployments
3+ years hands-on experience with Big Data-related tools and technologies: MapReduce, HDFS, HBase, Hive, Hadoop
Basic experience running and troubleshooting a Hadoop cluster; Hands-onexperience implementing, troubleshooting Linux/Unix operating systems and web application server environments
Experience with relational databases
Hands on experience with enterprise authentication and authorization environments (LDAP, Kerberos, etc.)
Knowledge of information systems and network architecture principles and practices
Experience with network security and platform security concepts
Understanding of data models and data flows in complex multi-tier database and application environments.
Experience initiating, managing and successfully completing quality improvement projects
Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and oral) with internal teams and customer representatives (including c-level executives)
Ability to effectively and calmly lead technical staff through crisis events and escalations
Ability to work effectively within a team or as an individual contributor.
