Job Description
Do you have a passion for automating boring, manual, repetitive tasks? BAE Systems is looking for a new team member that loves to automate without making sacrifices to system security. We are passionate about solving complex problems through agile software methodology and DevOps processes. We need a like-minded individual to help us as we develop new solutions, especially as we continue to improve automation through infrastructure as code and continuous integration. We also need someone that enjoys discovering how to secure the environment without sacrificing system and application functionality.

Roles and Responsibilities
Successful candidate will implement DevSecOps utilizing an agile software methodology for development, test, and deployment automation. Under general supervision, the candidate will be responsible for development/security/operations engineering utilizing the latest in cloud computing technology, especially as it pertains to emergent enhancements in the software development lifecycle. Job duties to include, but not limited to: software deployment process (DevOps, CI/CD, etc.); software design; software security; software automation and orchestration; network architecture and design; system, software, and network security; security hardening; high availability and fault-tolerance requirements; etc.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science
  • Candidates should have an excellent technical background
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure
  • Passionate about DevOps / DevSecOps
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communications skills
  • Strong research skills, excellent interpersonal skills in working with others
  • Knowledge of Linux (RedHat, CentOS) and Windows
  • Experience with Virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM)
  • Experience with common Cloud and DevOps tools, such as: Git, Jenkins, JIRA, etc.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Python, C, C++, Perl, Java
  • Experience with designing, implementing, and managing network solutions
  • Understanding of SDLC



Preferred Skills and Education

  • Amazon Web Services Associate Certification – Solutions Architect, Developer, and/or SysOps
  • Microsoft Azure Certification: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
  • Experience designing software integration solutions for deployment to cloud infrastructures, such as: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Azure Stack, Eucalyptus, OpenStack, etc.
  • Understanding of cloud native design
  • Experience with orchestration tools, such as: Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
  • Experience with Cloud Foundry, Rancher Labs, or OpenShift
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with development and deployment automation
  • Experience with design and implementation of network/system/software security
  • Experience with NIST, ISO, DISA, and/or CIS
  • Sec+ and/or Cloud+
  • CISSP or CSSLP preferred
