A Senior Power Systems Engineer job in Indianapolis, Indiana is currently available through Belcan. In this role, you will be responsible to work within the Electrical Team. You will play a significant role by supporting various projects including concept architecture studies, modelling, simulation, prototype development and full scale flight technology demonstrators.

Senior Power Systems Engineer Job Duties:

Key Accountabilities
Developing electrical product design specification and performance requirements
Developing, testing, implementing and validating power systems/power conversion subsystems
involving DC-DC, AC-DC, AC-AC conversion stages and rotating electric machines, as well as
actuators with connection to the grid and other types of loads
Developing controls software for electric machinery and power electronics
Validating experimental systems with hardware or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) through laboratory
testing
Working within a cross functional, multi disciplines global team
Familiarity with national and international design standards to include UL, IEEE, NEC, Mil-Std-704
Working to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability and delivery targets
Writing technical documents such as hardware requirements and specifications, product design
specification, test specification, schematics and board level design details
Ensuring all technical documents are generated and reviewed in accordance with Rolls-Royce`s
Engineering process and program/customer contract deliverables
Participating in technology marketing and proposal preparation
Promoting a safe working environment, as well as a stringent focus on risk understanding,
reporting and management
Relocation is available, as these opportunities will be located in Indianapolis

  Job Requirements   Details: Basic:
Bachelor`s degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years` experience in designing power
systems to include inverters, energy storage devices, generators, powertrains, motors and/or
drives OR;
A Master`s in Electrical Engineering and 6+ years` experience in designing power systems to
include inverters, energy storage devices, generators, powertrains, motors and/or drives;
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen
Preferred:
Master`s or PhD in Electrical Engineering
10+ years` experience in designing power systems to include inverters, energy storage devices,
generators, powertrains, motors and/or drives
A demonstrated ability to apply theory and implement control strategies for electric machines and
power electronics
Design experience with complex electro-mechanical systems deployed in harsh industrial or
military environments
