Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineerto join us in our Seattle office, to work on design plumbing and fire protection systems including domestic cold-water systems, domestic hot water systems, specialty water systems, sanitary drainage and vent systems, storm drainage systems, natural gas distribution systems, medical gas and/or laboratory gas systems, grease waste systems, acid waste and vent systems, other specialty plumbing and fire suppression systems.
This role supports a broad range of building types, with opportunities to contribute to technically complex and mission-critical facilities.
The Opportunity
• Leading plumbing and fire protection design for buildings and structures across a variety of market sectors, including data centers, hospitals, labs and commercial buildings.
• Working in collaboration with different stakeholders and code officials to deliver integrated projects through construction.
• Incorporate sustainable and resilient design strategies based on client and project needs.
• Assisting, supervising or mentoring team members and delivering timely feedback and recognition to others.
• Maintaining strong client relations as it pertains to project delivery and repeat business.
• Preparing drawings, specifications, technical reports, and presentation materials as well as incorporating sustainable design methods in buildings.
• Presenting technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participating in local Professional Associations.
• Responsible for maintaining quality standards, commercial metrics, and client relations for projects.
• Support construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and RFIs, troubleshooting construction issues, and preparation of site observation reports.
The Skills
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, architectural, civil, or environmental engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the design and specification of plumbing and fire protection systems for medium to large scale buildings for commercial, institutional, scientific or healthcare related use buildings.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including UPC, IPC, IBC, ASPE standards, LEED Water Efficiency, TDSHS, FGI, and NFPA.
• Proficiency in Revit for developing design drawings and 3D models of plumbing and piping systems preferred.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work within established schedules and budgets.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
• Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels.
• Experience managing project discipline teams of 3+ engineers on medium to large projects, including delegation & review of work of others, and managing team's effort to meet a stated budget.
• Excellent planning, organization, and time-management skills in a fast-paced setting.
• Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
• Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Excel, Word, and Navisworks.
Other / Preferred Qualifications
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred, or ASPE CPD (Certified in Plumbing Design) in the U.S.
• Strong foundation in plumbing engineering fundamentals.
• Certifications in Medical Gas Design
• LEED AP or WELL accreditation

Seattle Hiring Range- The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Seattle is $129,150 - $161,450 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Seattle will differ.
