• Drive a safety first culture; Maintain all safety and compliance procedures

• Maintain Marley quality standards

• Comply with all state and federal environmental and safety regulations and labor agreement(s). 

• Responsible for training, selecting, and motivating plant supervisory and administrative staff to achieve an effective use of manpower and enhance human resource utilization within every department

• Oversee the hiring and training of operations personnel to ensure a capable workforce

• Initiate process improvements that lower costs and increase efficiency    

• Supervise scheduling, production, and inventory control

• Lead the continuous improvement initiatives for the plant

• Responsible for solving problems and initiating process improvements

• Maintain productive working relationship with unions; address issues/challenges as required

• Manage operations budget to ensure minimal production cost and optimal product quality

• Review production processes and procedure to ensure they operate at highest possible efficiency

• Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams to ensure planning and production is optimized

• Liaise with purchasing managers to develop and improve supplier relationship

• Conduct employee performance appraisals to identify areas of needed coaching and guidance

• Delegate and assign work tasks to production staff to achieve set manufacturing targets

• Oversee long term planning activities geared towards enhanced operations; management of capital projects

• Prepare and submit to upper management regular reports of plant operations

• Maintain positive trust relationship with suppliers to ensure constant flow of required raw materials

• Ensure timely and effective delivery of goods to clients

• Maintain accurate inventory and ensure proper storage of received raw materials

• Utilize cost-benefit analytical techniques in improving operational efficiency

• All other duties as assigned



• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or in a related discipline

• 7+ years of plant operations/management experience (preferably in an union environment)



• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

• Knowledge of ERP software preferred 

• MRP knowledge helpful

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants 

• Able to lead root cause analysis investigations 

• Able to explain training material to our operating staff 

• Aptitude for equipment operation and troubleshooting
