Job Description
As a Senior Database and Application Developer, you will play an integral role on the Infrastructure and Platform Sustainment (CIPS) team and will create, update, configure, manage and administer database environments such as Oracle or postgresql. You will work in a dynamic environment with stakeholders, team members and government sponsors to database software over various operating systems such as Red Hat Linux, Windows, and VMWare. You will create instances to include control files, redo logs, archive log and other parameters as required. You will provide IT project management guidance/input and expertise for projects and special projects as needed. You will integrate DBMS(s) and data with existing application software, web sites, portals, storage devices or business applications as well as assisting and testing Disaster Recovery (DR) and Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP). You will gather and document complex stakeholder requirements to create test plans to validate that development meets requirements. You will estimate effort for current and future projects. You will code for projects of moderate risk and complexity for a concentrated set of platforms. You will contribute to development discussions, design sessions and code reviews for a concentrated set of platforms. You will create and modify database objects, write database procedures, functions and jobs with moderate complexity; perform query tuning and triage to address performance tuning. You will resolve issues using solution knowledge and expertise. You will mentor, train and assist others in development, debugging and documenting root cause analysis and resolution.
