Job Description

The Wirecutter is seeking a New York City based Senior Operations Manager to support the company’s growth and staff needs to work efficiently and successfully. As Senior Ops Manager  you’ll manage a small team and be the main level of company support and policy setter for all staff- remote and in office, manage our New York City and Los Angeles facilities and be a key partner to the Managing Editor assisting in editorial operations. This is a new position that reports to the Director of Business Operations.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for an organized problem solver, with good decision making skills, who knows how to get things done correctly in a dynamic working environment and wants to be a leader. You should have a background supporting a medium sized staff (~200) that’s both remote and in an office; and have the ability to operate successfully within a startup culture which encourages a proactive and empowered mentality without hand holding.

You should have experience in running (with a support staff) an office, photo studio, creative space, event space or similar that relies on a maintained schedule and policies for operating effectively as well as managing office/studio assistants.

Ideally you have experience owning company wide policies; as well as excel at driving both small tasks with little support and bigger projects with longer project timelines and many shareholders.

Above all else you should love helping people and thrive at solving problems logically both on your own and through delegation. You should operate with ownership but know when to ask for help and be skilled at prioritization and project management.

Why should you apply?
As Senior Operations Manager for the Wirecutter you’ll get to join an ops team that’s empowered to run unique and fun offices that consist of digital working environments, product test centers and photo studios.
