The Senior Microsoft Engineer/Consultant provides high-level customer support in the consultation, planning, design, and implementation of virtual and cloud based solutions along with necessary professional services and supporting technologies. The Solutions Senior Microsoft Engineer/Consultant typically interfaces with the client’s senior managers including C-Level, VP, and Directors. Support sales activity as a pre-sales engineer, attending customer meetings in person, by phone or on a video conference to determine customer needs and propose solutions in the data management arena. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design technical solutions for clients as part of a larger team in a timely and effective manner, hits project milestones and key deliverable dates
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the GreenPages solutions portfolio and specific practice area offerings
  • Assist in the development of GreenPages service offerings, including definition of tasks, deliverables, and standard estimates
  • Supports project manager to manage scope, issues, and escalations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Sales and customers
  • Communicate with project stakeholders and clients, both gathering, disseminating information 
  • Lead process improvement and innovation to the Professional Services methodology and services 
  • Standardize and create documentation to support complex client solutions 
  • Support senior technical staff as required
  • Establish strategic relationships with key customers to qualify business opportunities
  • Focus on selling strategic professional services which may incorporate product
  • Enable broader Managed Services penetration across GreenPages account base and potentially throughout OEM account base
  • Maintain technical certifications as required based on organizational needs and competency 


  • 10+ years of relevant consulting experience in customer facing positions
  • Prefer Senior level experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Operations Manager and possibly OMS integration
  • Technologies to be SME with include, but not limited to: Microsoft SCCM/SCOM, Microsoft Cloud, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, SQL Server, Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Office365 and VMware ESXi (Current version)
  • Requiredtechnologies to be familiar enough with to handle delivery of a technical implementation:  Mobile Device Management, Mobile Application Management, Hyper ConvergedInfrastructure, vSphere, Hyper-V
  • Understand principles of LAN/WAN/SAN networking, and possibly convergednetworking
  • Cloud storage Senior Microsoft Engineer/Consultant from Amazon and Azure nice to have
  • Proficiency with solutions design, configuration, and implementation
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.  Must possess ability to convey information to a variety of audiences, one to one and in group scenarios
  • Ability to produce written technical documents
  • Must be able work independently with a high degree of quality
  • Demonstration of professional conduct at all times
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training
  • Experienced in pre-sales activities including business etiquette, business attire, PowerPoint presentations, and whiteboard presentations
  • Must be comfortable in speaking to diverse audiences including technical operations, technical management and Director/CTO/CIO level
  • Business writing skills a must, able to work with Word and Excel Templates to write and present data analysis used to size and justify technical solutions
  • Recommended technical industry certification:  
    • Primary Microsoft Certified System Engineer in Cloud Productivity or Cloud Platform, SCCM, Messaging or Windows Server Infrastructure (MCSE or MCSA as base minimum)
    • Secondary storage certification, Veeam, Cisco UCS 
    • VMware VCP and VTSP
    • Nimble NTSP

Working Conditions / Environment:

  • Largely a field based, work from home position, often work occurs remotely with some onsite and travel requirements. Travel is US based only at this time.
