The Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager leads a group of designers who are innovating and developing next generation audio products under the Logitech and Ultimate Ears brands in our Camas, Washington office. The ideal candidate will have a strong consumer electronics background, be an innovative self-starter, a strong leader, and will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Oversee the specification, design, development, and manufacturability of our product’s mechanical systems through stable high-volume mass production

  • Manage mechanical resources and budget to fulfill the business group’s needs

  • Coordinate product design priorities, strategies, and deliverables

  • Ensure solutions exceed feature requirements and consumer expectations

  • Investigate new technologies and processes in order to maintain cutting edge design solutions and drive innovation

  • Collaborate across disciplines with internal and external design partners from early concept through production life cycles

  • Ensure team members follow directives, priorities, meet deliverable commitments on time and within budget

  • Collaborate with suppliers, engineers, 3rd party partners, and functional managers

  • Perform strategic planning and drive continuous improvements

  • Conduct performance reviews and mentor staff

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all released design documentation


For consideration, please bring the following minimum skills and behaviors:

  • Experience working with overseas suppliers and vendors (ODM, CDM, CM models)

  • Successful prior experience managing a Mechanical Engineering team

  • Strong knowledge in various manufacturing process and able to apply them effectively to meet part requirements

  • Knowledge of plastic, tooling, injection molding, and assembly process, cosmetic finishes, and defect analysis

  • Proponent of DFM, DFA, FMEA, tolerance analysis...

  • Track record in designing effective high-volume consumer electronic products

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques

  • Flexibility and comfort working in a fast-paced environment that is evolving

  • Highly proficient in 3D MCAD (prefer ProEngineer) and simulation tools (ANSYS)

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, high level of cross-cultural competence in communicating effectively in a global environment


  • Bachelor’s, Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 8+ years of industry experience with 2+ years of experience leading or managing teams of 5 or more engineers with
