The position - Senior Mechanical Engineer   The position will report to the Hardware Engineering Manager. The Pelco hardware team is responsible for the electronics and mechanical design of all IP camera products. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in working with ODM & CM partners in the design, manufacture, validation and delivery of mechanical solutions for IP cameras and accessories.   This job might be for you if you have, are, or possess:

  • Experience with outsourced manufacturing operations globally
  • Experience with various manufacturing process (die-casting, injection molding, stamping, machining, etc.)
  • Experience with CAD Software tools (ProE and/or Creo preferred)
  • Working knowledge in the proper design of mechanical parts and best practices to meet regulatory and compliance agency requirements (UL, CE, FCC, RoHS). Knowledge in Hazardous Locations certifications (IECEx, ATEX) a plus
  • Experience with Analytical tools/simulations (FEA, Thermal, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability in driving mechanical engineering design requirements to include electro-mechanical performance, thermal management, structural robustness and longevity
  • Competency across a range of skills and a demonstrated capacity to ramp-up rapidly in new technology
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problem areas, drive issues to closure and ensure solid root cause understanding
  • Passion for quality and attention to detail
  • Work closely with cross functional engineers to ensure that the mechanical design is in-line with the overall product design in order to predictably deliver high quality camera products to market
  • Good at dealing with ambiguity and possessing a collaborative work style
  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty

    Qualifications

     

    • Must be willing and able to travel (domestic and international) to support design and manufacturing activities.
    • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum 8 years of experience
