The successful candidate will be customer focused and motivated to work in a dynamic and highly interactive work environment that synchronize the entire value stream. The successful candidate must possess in-depth MRP system skills to manage all facets of material flow to and from Columbus Forge in support of customer demands. The Senior Materials Manager for the Columbus Forge organization will be ultimately responsible for aligning scheduling versus shop capacity across the business, managing site procurement and external capacity resources.
The SeniorMaterials Manager is a key leader on our team withresponsibilitiesthat include but are not limited to:
- Direct Leadership of the Materials Planning of Columbus Forge Disk operations.
- Effective management of planning parameters in support of schedule accuracy, schedule stability, and inventory optimization.
- Lead, co-lead, or support various strategic initiativesassociated with the Columbus Forge Disk 100% on time delivery, double digit inventory turns, etc.
- Lead, or co-lead teams that focus on streamlining part tracking from supply chain to the customers in the support of finished Module Assembly.
- Develop release strategies that maximize on-time starts while minimizing inventory.
- Deploy pull-signal strategies that link the entire value stream.
- Manage daily communication with all operations.
- Derive and manage planning and scheduling related strategy initiatives.
- Support lead-time management, freight management, and material flow optimization through the use of Procurement/Materials standard work.
•A Bachelor's Degree is a prerequisite. We prefer applicants with degrees in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain or Finance.
•U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts.
•You have 10 years working in Materials Management, Production Control, Supply Chain or Operations Management within a manufacturing facility.
•You've also managed direct reports or held responsible for employees for 3 or more years.
•You're an expert user of MRP/ERP systems used in production control and planning.
•U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts.
•You've completed your graduate degree or MBA program.
•Your resume includes 10 years in Aerospace Materials Management or Production Control. Experience in Isothermal Forging Process preferred.
•Expert at managing procurement, planning, and production control personnel and related activities.
•Solid understanding of shop practices, processes, and procedures.
•Your background includes working with ACE, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma or related Continuous Improvement tools and metrics.
•You've development and managed Total Quality Management tools and supplier Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreement.
•You are comfortable working with MS Office programs like Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. Previous SAP ERP experience preferred.
•Familiarity with turbofan engines and components preferred; Engineering experience a plus.
•Proven track record of accomplishments in cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives.
•Executive presentation and communication skills.
