Job Introduction

Supports engineering efforts by providing manufacturing logistic skills to the creation and submission of winning quotations for new projects and business. Provide manufacturing engineering support to acquired projects throughout the product creation and launch process in various facilities and divisions.

Major Responsibilities

• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods. • Ensure all fixtures and assembly aids are capable for the purpose intended. • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. • Create investment, manpower and facility requirements as needed. • Support purchasing supplier quality and manufacturing during ongoing production of new products and other critical periods. • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. • Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to the product, process and system. • Identifies and records any problems relating to the product, process and quality systems. • Initiates, recommends or provides solutions through designated channels. • Verifies the implementation of solutions (quality systems).

Knowledge and Education

Bachelors degree in engineering.

Work Experience

5-7 years of diversified engineering experience. Ability to show increasing responsibility for engineering components over time. Must have experience with Heavy Trucks
