You will primarily provide technical support to commercialized product manufacturing. You will also be a process owner, responsible for supporting ongoing manufacturing, creating value in manufacturing through continuous-improvement efforts, proposing improvements to leadership, and mentoring other associates. You will play a key role in directly supporting the Enterprise strategy. Note that in Gore this role is called a Process Engineer.


  • Developing deep technical and historical knowledge of the process and product and applying it to decision making and/or process reviews
  • Providing process and equipment expertise to resolve manufacturing technical issues
  • Applying Lean/Six Sigma principles to develop and execute on plans to meet manufacturing efficiency, safety, and capacity targets, including workflow, work station, and equipment improvements
  • Developing capital investment proposals and project plans
  • Analyzing production data to identify trends, leading cross-functional root cause investigations and proposing corrective/preventive actions
  • Partnering with equipment designers and maintenance to define preventive maintenance and calibration requirements and lifecycle management of manufacturing equipment and tooling
  • Conducting equipment, software, and process validations, including IQ, OQ, SQA, and PQ
  • Driving and providing support to quality processes (non-conformance, CAPA, change management, field events, audits, etc.)
  • Mentoring and driving best practices within the team to develop functional excellence of early career engineers
  • Providing consultation, coaching and guidance on project work and change evaluation


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years' relevant engineering experience
  • Experience mentoring engineers
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to partner with and influence internal and external cross-functional partners
  • Ability to proactively identify high value opportunities in alignment with business objectives

Desired Qualifications:

  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification
  • Medical device process engineering experience
