General Summary

The Senior Manager Business Development will work in conjunction with the Senior Vice President of Global Strategy and Business Development to assist in developing the strategic planning process for company with a focus on driving inorganic growth initiatives including strategic alliances, partnerships, licensing, mergers and acquisitions and minority investments.

The Senior Manager will interface with internal teams to gather data necessary to drive the business development initiatives as well as characterize investment profiles of strategic opportunities for senior leadership evaluation and direction.

Essential Job Functions

Specific responsibilities include: (1) primary financial analysissupport in evaluating potential mergers & acquisitions, partnerships, and investments; (2) evaluating new business development initiatives; and (3) assisting in the development of global long-term strategy for Syneron-Candela.

Specifically, responsibilities will include:

  • Supports the Product and Region business units in executing on all Business Development transactions including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, equityinvestments, partnerships / alliances, and licensing
  • Supports various phases of the transaction process including analysis of inorganic strategy and markets, target identification and screening, structuring, valuation, due diligence, negotiation and closing
  • Performs gap analysis to business unit portfolio, and helps define strategic and tactical steps to best position segment for accelerated growth
  • Works with BD leadership to manage communication and alignment with key internal stakeholders to support effective decision making and transaction approval processes
  • Facilitate smooth transition of responsibilities and knowledge to business and functional leaders responsible for ongoing operations post- close
  • Coordinate execution of the global engagement strategy. Meet with internal targets to capture objectives/wins, global initiatives impacting Syneron-Candela for support needs/expectations, and collaboration opportunities and suggestions for improving alignment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or a technical field and prior business development / M&Aexperience in the areas of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other investments, OR a minimum of six years of business development / M&Aexperience in the areas of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other investments
  • Master’s in Business Administration highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and negotiating business transactions including acquisition evaluation, modeling and financial analysis
  • Proven track record supporting and managing transactions
  • Ability to understand the various business unit goals and proactively identify inorganic opportunities to meet them
  • Experience and demonstrated aptitude both managing and prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives
  • Accepting and adhering to high ethical, moral, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others
  • Medical device industry experiencepreferred
  • Ability to understand the various business unit goals and proactively identify inorganic opportunities to meet them
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork skills
  • External focus: Understanding customer needs, marketplace dynamics, industry trends, and the competitive landscape in the industry/function and considering the external impact of business activities and decisions on the external environment
  • Support coordination of Strategic Planning process with focus on mid/long-term objectives & initiatives (5 years)
